Sam Lambert

I'm Sam. I run PlanetScale, where we're building the world's most scalable database platform.

Before this I spent seven years at GitHub, joining in 2013 as its first database engineer and leaving in 2020 as VP of Engineering. I've also been angel investing in infrastructure since 2017, as a Sequoia Scout and on my own, in companies like Fly.io, Vercel, Railway, Graphite and Temporal.

I believe most of the database industry runs on hype, that operational excellence is the real moat, and that a company only gets to keep its promises if it's profitable. Ask away.
