Founded in 1883, the University of Auckland is New Zealand's largest university with over 40,000 students and nearly 10,000 graduates annually. It operates six faculties including Arts and Education, Business School, Engineering and Design, Law, Medical and Health Sciences, and Science. The university is known as Waipapa Taumata Rau in Māori, a name gifted in 2020 by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.
