Punjabi University, Patiala is the largest state university of Punjab, established on April 30, 1962, with the main objective of furthering the cause of Punjabi language, art and literature. It is a multi-faculty institution spread over 316 acres with 70+ teaching and research departments, 27 regional centres and neighbourhood campuses, and 274 affiliated colleges. The university is accredited with an 'A+' grade by NAAC and has a strong focus on promoting Punjabi language and culture alongside diverse academic disciplines.
