The Institute of Design (ID) advances the study and use of design through its degree-granting Graduate School at the Illinois Institute of Technology. It is the only US design school devoted exclusively to graduate study and was the first US school to offer a PhD in design. Founded as The New Bauhaus in 1937 by László Moholy-Nagy, ID educates strategic designers, leaders, and changemakers to transform systems that shape our lives.
