Since its establishment in 2003, the Hamburg Media School (HMS) has operated at the dynamic intersection of academic education, artistic practice, and industry. The School prepares exceptionally talented students and early-career professionals for successful careers in the creative, business, and academic sectors of the digital media industry. HMS offers a comprehensive portfolio of academic programmes in the fields of Media Management, Journalism, and Film. These range from state-accredited Master's degree programmes and a Bachelor's programme in Digital Media to a variety of continuing professional education opportunities. HMS is organised as a public–private partnership with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the University of Hamburg, and the Hamburg University of Fine Arts, supported by more than 50 media companies. Located on Hamburg's Art and Media Campus Finkenau, HMS fosters close collaboration with the digital media industry and academic institutions, providing a research-led and practice-oriented learning environment.
