Birmingham-Southern College is a private liberal arts college in Birmingham, Alabama, founded in 1856. It closed on May 31, 2024, and the U.S. Coast Guard is acquiring the campus. The College fosters intellectual and personal development through excellence in teaching and scholarship and by challenging students to engage their community and the greater world, to examine diverse perspectives, and to live with integrity.
