About
Argosy University (www.argosy.edu) was a private, for-profit university system in the United States, founded in 2001 and closed in 2019. It was formed by merging three predecessor institutions: the American School of Professional Psychology, the Medical Institute of Minnesota, and the University of Sarasota. The university was owned by Education Management Corporation (EDMC) from 2001 to 2017, then by Dream Center Education Holdings (DCEH), LLC until its closure. It operated 26 campus locations across 13 states plus online programs. The institution was accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (1981) and the WASC Senior College and University Commission (2011).
