Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi

Dokuz Eylül University (DEU) is a public research university in İzmir, Turkey, founded in 1982. It is organized into 18 faculties, 10 institutes, 3 schools, and 6 vocational schools, with over 60,000 students and more than 3,000 academic staff as of 2024. The university is known for being the first in Turkey to implement problem-based learning, particularly in its School of Medicine. It has 16 campuses in İzmir province, with its rectorate located in Alsancak. Dokuz Eylül University is recognized as a research university and holds institutional accreditation from YÖKAK.
