Michael Strong

I'm Michael, founded The Socratic Experience in 2020, a virtual school for creative, intellectual, and entrepreneurial students whose needs are not being met by conventional schools.

Every school I have built over thirty-five years, from a Socratic Practice program in an inner-city classroom to a rural New Mexico charter ranked among the best public high schools in the country, has rested on one thing: the cultivation of respectful, civil, authentic intellectual dialogue. I wrote The Habit of Thought to describe that method, and co-founded FLOW with John Mackey to apply the same entrepreneurial thinking to world problems.

Ask me about why the future of education is subculture creation.
