I'm Mat Sherman, founder of MatCap. I was born and raised in Phoenix. My first startup, PubLoft, grew from $0 to $24K in monthly revenue in under a year. Then we got a $100K check from Jason Calacanis and joined his LAUNCH accelerator. Within a year the company was toast. We had the revenue and the backing, but I didn't understand how Silicon Valley works. That lesson drives MatCap. I help founders raise their first round. We take 1% of the company, charge no cash fees, and I open my network of investors in SF and NYC.
