Garett Lord

I am Garett, the co-founder and CEO of Handshake.

We started the company at Michigan Tech because I saw how much talent gets overlooked when hiring runs on prestige and proximity rather than potential. Handshake grew into the career network that connects students at thousands of colleges with employers who are actually looking for them. More recently we built Handshake AI, an expert network where people contribute their real domain knowledge to help train frontier models.

I care most about giving people a fair shot at good work, and about building a team that moves fast, stays close to users, and keeps learning. Ask away!
