About

I'm Sheriffdeen, an Entomologist and Research Assistant at the University of Ibadan, where I study how insects interact with crops and how to manage them sustainably without causing environmental pollution or toxicity to human. My research background includes using plant-based extracts to control maize weevil attacks on stored grains. In 2024, I won the Prof H. Fadamiro Prize at Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Department of Biology, for top performance in a coursework titled "Pest and Vector Management" which led to a grant funding my current Masters. Beyond academics, I have demonstrated many leadership skills and volunteers to community works. In 2025, I doubled as Harvard-sponsored Aspire Leaders Fellow.

Interests: Integrated pest management, botanical pesticides, post-harvest protection, and climate-smart agriculture.
