The document is the first volume of a Spanish‑language onomastic dictionary compiled by Pablo Almazán, covering the 200 most common given names used in the Spanish‑speaking world. Each entry, ordered alphabetically from A to Z, follows a uniform structure: the name’s linguistic origin (e.g., Hebrew, Latin, Germanic, Greek, Arabic, etc.), the literal etymological meaning, a brief overview of cultural and religious traditions linked to the name (including saints, biblical figures, legends, and patronages), the most common international variants, and a short list of notable historical or contemporary bearers. The work draws on etymological sources, religious texts, and biographical references to provide a concise yet scholarly reference for genealogists, writers, educators, and anyone interested in the cultural heritage of Spanish personal names.
