Mike Andes shares how his lawn-care company splits profits with technicians. With $450,000 quarterly revenue and a 20% margin, he allocates 10% of the $90,000 profit to the team. Only on-time technicians with no call-outs qualify, so eight workers each get $1,100 that quarter.

  1. Here's how I share the profits of my lawn care business with my technicians, and they make over $1,000 per quarter. Let's assume we had $450,000 of revenue in the quarter. Let's assume we're about 20% profitable, so we had $90,000 of profit. Let's assume that 10% of that's gonna go to technicians, so this is our profit share. And we're going to assume that 8 of them are eligible Team members. Meaning they were on time and they didn't call out. That means at the end of the quarter, the 10% of profit share that I give gets divided by 8, and every technician makes over $1,100.
