I'm Liz, CEO at Connect IFA Ltd trading as Connect for Intermediaries and Connect Mortgages and chair of the board of the Society of Mortgage Professionals. I started in mortgages and financial services at 19 working for Prudential and later set up Connect IFA which grew from an office in a Hornchurch letting agent into a company offering specialist BTL, commercial and bridging finance and a mortgage network supporting hundreds of appointed representatives. We are still based in Hornchurch with a team of over 70 staff and trading styles that include consumer-facing Connect Mortgages and the Connect for Intermediaries network that provides FCA regulation, compliance and support for advisers. I am also a property investor, an AI enthusiast and investor, and an Abundance360 patron.

And my hot take is AI will make mortgage paperwork obsolete long before the regulators learn to love it.
