Hallie Bulkin trained in adult dysphagia under Dr. Barbara Sunnis at the NIH, but grad school didn't prepare her for pediatric feeding. The differences between adult and child cases left many clinicians stuck. She created Feed the Pizza, a 10-week course launched in 2020 to teach assessment and treatment for kids.

  1. That's where so many of you have been sharing that you feel stuck. That is why I created this back in 2019 and launched it in 2020. They never taught this to us in grad school. And one of you just said you're kind of, you know, looking to transition maybe from adults to pediatrics. It's a completely different ballgame. I had an adult dysphagia class in grad school with Dr. Barbara Sunnis, who was amazing. She took us to the floor, the radiology floor at NIH, and showed us where they do the swallow studies. And that was all very cool. for adults. We learned this much when it came to pediatrics, right? And so Feed the Pizza is now that 10-week comprehensive program that helps you go beyond screening so you can confidently assess and treat and collaborate on cases.
