This conference paper (McCarty et al., 2023) develops a multi-period Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model to optimise district-scale deployment schedules of building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) in the Altstetten district of Zürich between 2020 and 2050. The model couples spatially-resolved 3D surface irradiance and building demand data (LOD1, Daysim/CEA) with temporal investment periods (5-year steps) to produce Pareto solutions from carbon-minimal to cost-minimal; results include spatial deployment patterns, morphometric correlations, and lifetime carbon-intensity assessments.
