When I say to cut out sugar, what I mean is to avoid added sugar. Think white sugar, brown sugar, or what might say on a package, cane sugar. Avoid added dextrose and high fructose corn syrup. And I'm not so much referring to fruit. In adequate and moderate amounts, actually can be beneficial to your health because fruit contain other antioxidants and polyphenols and nutrients that we need to protect ourselves from high-risk HPV virus. This study from 2022, for example, found that when women have either higher blood sugar levels or lower blood sugar levels, that there was an increased risk of testing positive for high-risk HPV virus and even abnormal cells caused by the virus. So this is why it's so important to optimize your blood sugar level. I recommend avoiding sugar in the obvious places, but also where it might not be so obvious. You need to look on the labels of things like Cereal, granola, as well as salad dressing, condiments, and even beverages. Aim for protein. This is what can break the cycle of craving sugar, is to have something with protein in it first before you have anything that's sugar or high carb content.
