Daniel Rosen explains why credit repair professionals shouldn't give vague timelines like "30 days." Clients ask because they're working toward a specific deadline, like buying a home, and a generic answer leads them to make premature decisions. Instead, ask "What date are you working toward?" to understand their real goal and build trust.

  1. How long does this take? It's not curiosity, it's fear. What they're actually asking is, am I going to miss it? Now you see why the wrong answer costs so much. You say 30 days and they hear yes. So they go and tell their realtor. They start packing boxes in their head. And when month 2 rolls around and the mortgage guy says, sorry, not yet, you didn't just miss a timeline. You broke something that they were counting on. And saying every case is different is worse, because to somebody with a date that's circled on their calendar, that sounds like you don't even care that that date exists. So here's the move, credit hero. Before you answer how long, ask them when. Say, what's the date you're working towards? And then watch what happens in the room when you ask that. You just became the first person in this whole process who treated their deadline like it was real.
