If you hire someone to fix your credit by lying on documents, you're committing perjury and fraud, not them. Signing false statements about stolen debts, filing fake police reports, and using a cleaned report to get loans are all federal crimes. The company isn't liable for you.

  1. This could also be a crime for the customer who is hiring you. And this goes for not just credit repair, but even like somebody hiring me as a lawyer. Hiring a professional doesn't always protect you. If somebody is acting on your behalf, that's an agency relationship. Even though they're the ones doing it, you may still be the one that's responsible. So if you sign a sworn statement and if it's you who's actually signing saying your debts were opened by a thief, By doing that, and it's actually your debt that you owe, you just lied to the federal government when you do an FTC report. That has serious consequences. I cannot stress that enough to the point of perjury. So you lying to the federal government is a serious offense. You may have filed a false police report sometimes in some— just as bad of an offense. People have been charged individually and not just the company. So this, this has been punished. This has happened. And it's been punished. So if you then use your freshly cleaned credit report, let's say everything falls off and you go get a mortgage or a car loan, you just committed loan fraud. So there's not just fraud just doing this. There's fraud on every level.
